This website represents in many ways a love affair with New Mexico; it is on-going, passionate, and nuanced, perhaps my attempt to capture the dreamscape I find all around me. This place defies encapsulation. The first state to boast a private spaceport (two if you count Roswell) the land and cultures are ancient. 

 

Photographers and painters are drawn to the light here which I have seen nowhere else. Even moonlight is different here. Sky effects and weather demand new thinking from the visitor… columns of rain called virgas point downwards from clouds, only to evaporate before reaching the ground, a meteorological phenomenon called subliming. Pillars of rain that reach the earth can be observed moving determinedly across the landscape, termed walking rain by those who know.
